DILL PICKLES 
1 head dill
1/2 tsp. pickling spice
1 or 2 garlic pieces
Enough cucumbers to pack quart jar
1/2 c. 5% vinegar
1 scant tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar

Put dill in jar and add pickling spice, garlic and then pack with cucumbers. Add vinegar, salt and sugar. Fill jar to neck or cover cucumbers. Seal jar and shake easy to dissolve salt and sugar.

Put in hot water bath up to the neck of jar. Simmer until cucumbers change color. Doesn't take long after water gets hot. Remove and store. Takes about 3 months for pickles to pickle. Ingredients are for 1 quart jar.
