GERMAN BISCUITS 
1/4 lb. butter or shortening
2 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tarter
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter and sugar together, add egg. Sift flour, cream of tarter and soda gradually into the wet mixture. Roll out thin 1/4 inch and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake 5 to 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Put 2 together with jelly and top with frosting. Powdered sugar and water make thin; apply with back of spoon.
