1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. cold water
1 large -OR- 2 small eggs
1 pkg. active dry yeast
6 c. all-purpose flour
1 heaping tsp. salt
1/2 c. to 1 c. butter (1 to 2 sticks), melted

Roll out 1/4-inch thick. Cut with small round cutter. Dip into melted butter. Place 2 pieces together, one on top of the other. Press lightly to seal and let rise 2 hours, uncovered.

Bake at 400°F until a golden brown (about 10 to 15 minutes).
