PINTO BEAN CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. raisins
1 c. sugar
2 c. pinto beans, cooked
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. raw apples, diced
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Mash pinto beans and add to this mixture. Sift dry ingredients and add to the creamy mixture. Add raw apples, raisins, nuts and vanilla. Bake in a greased tube pan at 350 degrees for one hour.

ICING:

1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box 10X sugar
3 tbsp. juice from pinto beans
1 tbsp. milk or cream

Just mix and spread. If the icing is too thick, add more liquid.
