SOUTH - OF - THE - BORDER DIP 
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. butter
1 lb. Mexican Velveeta cheese spread, cubed
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped & drained

(Microwave) Microwave onion and butter in 1 1/2 quart casserole or bowl on 2 minutes or until onion is tender. Add process cheese spread and tomatoes; mix well. Microwave on medium (50%) 9 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring every 3 minutes.

Saute onions in butter. Add process cheese spread and tomatoes; stir until process cheese spread is melted. Simmer 10 minutes. Serve hot with tortilla chips. Makes 3 cups.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
