CHESS SQUARES 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 stick butter, melted
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. chopped pecans
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 stick butter, soften
1 box confectioners sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans, chopped

In a mixing bowel, mix cake mix, butter, egg, and nuts into a dough. Spread evenly on a large cookie sheet. In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, butter, confectioners sugar, eggs, and vanilla until creamy. Add nuts. Pour over dough. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Thoroughly cool. Cut into small bite size squares.
