OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 lg. eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Pour boiling water over oatmeal; let stand at room temperature 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and butter. Stir until butter melts. Add eggs and mix well. Mix flour, soda, salt and cocoa together and add to sugar mixture. Mix well by hand. Stir in 1/2 package of chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased and floured 9"x13" cake pan. Sprinkle walnuts and rest of chips on top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
