MACARONI WITH BROCCOLI | |
1 pkg. chopped broccoli, frozen 1/4 c. white wine 1/3 c. oil 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1 sm. onion, chopped 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano Sm. pinch of pepper 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/3 c. bread crumbs, if desired 1 lb. macaroni (any kind, linguine is excellent) In saucepan, combine garlic and onion and oil, lightly cook until golden. In separate saucepan, place broccoli and add water until broccoli is covered. Bring to boil and simmer until garlic and onion are ready. Take the water and broccoli and add this into the garlic and oil saucepan. Simmer. Add wine and spices except cheese and bread crumbs and simmer until macaroni is done. Cook macaroni separately. When cooked, drain water and put macaroni in serving bowl. Pour broccoli mixture over and toss. Add grated cheese and bread crumbs. Serve. |
