ORIENTAL STEAKS | |
1 green pepper 1 tomato 1 c. cold water 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. cooking oil 4 sm. beef, cubed steaks 1. Wash pepper and tomato. Remove stem and seeds from pepper and cut it into thin strips. Cut tomato into pieces. 2. Put water, soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar and salt into a jar. Screw on lid tightly and shake until smooth. 3. Put oil into skillet. Put skillet on burner. Turn burner to medium high heat. Add green pepper. Cook until lightly brown. Remove pepper from pan with slotted spoon and put on plate. 4. Put steaks in pan and cook 1 minute or until brown on one side. Turn with tongs. Cook 1 minute or until brown. Put on plate. 5. Shake mixture in jar again. Pour into the skillet. Cook and stir with wooden spoon until thick and bubbly. 6. Put meat and green pepper into pan. Add tomato and heat through. Serve over chow mein noodles or rice. |
