AUSTRIAN HOLIDAY SANDWICH
COOKIES
 
1 lb. pork lard
1/2 lb. butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
8 c. flour

Cream lard and butter. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour a little at a time, mixing thoroughly. Fill cookie press, use swirl design fitting, it makes the roundest cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and cool.

Put 1/2 teaspoon of blackraspberry preserves on 1/2 and cover with another. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. This cookie is also excellent as a substitute for butter cookies. Just sprinkle with chopped nuts or candy sprinkles before baking.
