1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk

FILLING:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. marshmallow cream
3/4 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. powdered sugar

Cream all Filling ingredients together.

Cream shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoons to ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 370 degrees for 11-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute. Spread 1 tablespoon filling, cover with another cookie. 24 cookies.
