POLITE APPLE PIE 
1/2 c. cranberries
1 c. water
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. rum
1 lb. can apple pie filling with spices
1 lb. can apple slices
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
1 pkg. Pillsbury All Ready pie crust
3 tbsp. butter

Microwave cranberries in 1 cup water for 1 minute on High. Allow to stand 5 minutes. Drain. Add raisins and rum. Let stand, covered at room temperature for several hours. Combine pie filling, apple slices, sugar and spices with cranberry mixture. Prepare pie crust according to package directions for a 9 inch two crust pie. Fill with fruit. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust and seal. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. This is called "polite" because the apples are anything but "fresh".

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
