HORACE'S FAVORITE CORNBREAD 
2 c. white corn meal, sifted
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. onion flakes or minced onion
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red pepper

Mix all ingredients together dry. Heat deep skillet with 1/2 inch cooking oil (Should be about 400°F). Mix water (cold) with mixture until it will spoon out in thin 1/2 inch patties. Drop in hot oil. Cook until golden brown.
