CHOCOLATE TURTLES 
2 1/2 to 3 c. pecan halves
1 bag caramels
8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

On greased cookie sheets arrange pecan halves in clusters of two nuts (placed end to end) each, flat side down.

Place a caramel on top of each cluster. Heat in a preheated oven until caramels soften, about 5-8 minutes. Remove from oven and flatten caramels with buttered spoon. Cool slightly.

Melt 8 oz. chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Dip the "turtles" into the melted chocolate, cool on wax paper. Store tightly covered in a cool place.
