CHOCOLATE CHERRY BARS 
1 pkg. fudge cake mix
21 oz. can cherry fruit filling
1 tsp. almond extract
2 eggs, beaten

FROSTING:

5 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Using solid shortening, grease and flour 13 x 9 inch pan. In large bowl combine cake mix, fruit filling, almond extract and eggs. By hand, stir until well mixed. Pour into pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. In small saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and milk. Boil, stirring constantly for one minute. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over bars.

Makes approximately 3 dozen bars.
