BOILED CUSTARD 
1 qt. milk
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tbsp. cornstarch

This procedure is very important! Simmer milk in double boiler. Beat eggs well. Add half of sugar to eggs. Beat. Gradually beat some hot milk into egg mixture. Beat warmed egg mixture into remaining hot milk. Mix cornstarch with remaining sugar and beat into mixture.

For best results use an electric hand mixer for beating. Stir constantly and cook over medium-low heat until mixture coats a metal spoon. Allow to cool. Flavor to taste with vanilla or favorite flavoring. Serve cold.
