WOODLAND ALTARS WHOLE WHEAT BREAD | |
1 packet yeast 1/4 c. warm water 2 c. hot water 1/3 c. honey 2 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. oil Whole wheat flour Mix yeast and warm water and set aside. In large bowl combine hot water, honey, salt and oil. Stir in 3 cups flour. Add yeast mixture. Add flour to make fairly stiff dough (about 3 cups). Knead about 10 minutes. Put in greased bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled in bulk. Punch down and divide in two. Let rest for 10 minutes. Make loaves and put into oiled pans. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk. Bake at 350 degrees until browned (40 minutes). For rolls, use whole wheat flour for the first 3 cups, white for the rest. |
