1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour cream

Mix shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Blend in remaining ingredients. Roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut shapes. Bake 6-8 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 4-5 dozen 2 inch cookies.
