SOUR CREAM CHRISTMAS COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract 1 c. sour cream 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 6 1/2 c. flour, divided FROSTING: 2 2/3 c. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 2 egg whites, unbeaten 1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients except 1 cup flour. Save for rolling out dough. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Roll out in small quantities and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Mix frosting ingredients together and whip until frosting stands in peaks. Frost cookies. |
