OLD - FASHIONED ALMOND BREAD
PUDDING
 
1 loaf French bread or 3 c. stale white bread cubes
2 tbsp. butter, softened
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. golden raisins
1/2 c. sliced almonds
1 qt. whole milk or half & half

Break up loaf of bread into small pieces. Put in bowl. Pour milk or half & half over, let stand 1 hour. Grease 9 x 13 inch glass dish with the butter. Beat eggs, sugar and extracts. Fold in raisins and almonds. Stir into bread and milk. Spread evenly in prepared dish. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes until golden.
