APPLE PIE SLICES | |
1 recipe egg yolk pastry 9 to 10 c. apples, sliced 1 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg Roll out half of the pastry and line 10 x 15 inch jelly roll pan. Mix apples and remaining ingredients. Spread in lined pan. Top with remaining pastry, rolled out. Seal and crimp. Brush with milk, sprinkle with a little sugar and cut vents. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes. When cool, drizzle with 1 cup powdered sugar, mixed with 2 tablespoons milk. Cut in squares. 24 servings. |
