BIRD IN THE NEST | |
2 lbs. ground beef 7 slices bread 1 sm. onion 1 c. milk (whole or skim milk can be used) 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can Campbell's cream of chicken soup (cream of celery or mushroom can be used) Salt and pepper Using 1/4 measuring cup, divide ground beef into eight equal portions. Using hands, form portions into cups. Place in an 8 inch square baking dish. Prepare stuffing, using 7 slices of bread, 1 small onion (finely chopped), and 1 cup milk, plus salt and pepper to taste. Toss gently. Place 1/4 cup of stuffing into each portion of ground beef. Spoon entire can of cream of chicken soup over stuffing. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Serves 8. |
