POTATO ROLLS | |
2 c. milk Heat and cool to lukewarm. 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. water 2 pkg. active dry yeast 1/2 med. potato, mashed using a little potato water 5 c. flour Pour warm water into bowl. Sprinkle in yeast and stir until dissolved. Add lukewarm milk and potato mixture. Add flour. Mix until dough is smooth and elastic. Place in a greased covered bowl and let rise in a warm place (free from draft) until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour. Punch down dough and make into rolls. Let rolls rise a little and bake at 400 degrees until slightly brown. |
