BLUEBERRY CAKE 
1/2 c. butter, all Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 egg
Little nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. sour milk (regular milk, add 1 tbsp. vinegar to make sour milk)
2 level cups flour
Nearly 2 c. blueberries

Cream butter and sugar together; add egg, well beaten. Add spices and salt. Then sour milk with baking soda dissolved. Add flour, keeping out some to flour blueberries. Add berries last.

Cook in moderate oven 350 degrees. For 9 x 9 inch pan, 35-40 minutes. For loaf cake, 3/4 hour. For cupcakes, 30-40 minutes.
