CRANBERRY BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. orange juice
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. hot water
1 c. chopped nut meats
1 1/2 c. raw cranberries (cut in half)

Sift together first 5 ingredients. Mix salt, egg, orange juice and melted butter. Add dry ingredients and hot water, mix well. Add nutmeats and cranberries. Blend dough thoroughly.

Bake in well greased loaf pan in moderate 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Take from oven, wrap loaf in waxed paper while hot, put in refrigerator at once. When cold, rewrap. Freezes well.
