1 box Duncan Hines angel food cake mix
1/2 c. sifted flour
2 (1 lb.) boxes powdered sugar
2 lbs. pecan meal

Mix the above ingredients, preparing the cake mix according to package directions. A heavy duty mixer is helpful but it can be mixed by hand. The dough is very dense. It can be stored in the refrigerator in 2 inch thick coils, wrapped in plastic wrap. To bake, cut off 1 inch slices from the roll and place on a greased baking sheet. Flatten slightly and bake 15 to 18 minutes at 375 degrees.

Although icing is not necessary, it is a nice touch. The following recipe is very good for these cookies: 1/2 lb. powdered sugar, added a little at a time until the icing is stiff
