TENDER TURKEY | |
Purchase turkey. Clean turkey (top and bottom). Wash down. Baste with butter. Season with salt and pepper. If desired add to hollow - apple, celery or onions. Preheat oven to 500 degrees about 1 hour. Put turkey in pan with 1 quart of water and seal tightly with foil (heavy). Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 500 degrees. Turn oven off and leave in oven overnight. Do Not Open Oven until next morning 20 pounds = 1 hour; 12 pounds = 40 minutes. |
