3-DAY ICICLE PICKLES 
7 lbs. cucumbers
1 gal. water
1 c. lime

Put cut cucumbers in lime water and let stand for 24 hours. Rinse well. Let stand in ice cold water for 3 hours. Drain.

Bring to a boil: 1 qt. water 9 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. mixed pickling spice

Pour hot mixture over cucumbers and let stand 24 hours. Drain off syrup mixture and again bring to a boil. Place pickles in syrup, and simmer 3 minutes. Pack into hot jars. Makes 5 quarts.
