APPLE CRISP 
3-5 Granny smith apples
2-3 tsp. vanilla
Nutmeg
Sugar, depending on sweetness of apples
Cinnamon

TOPPING:

2 c. flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 sticks butter, room temperature
1 c. oatmeal

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Peel and core apples. Slice apples and place in 13"x9" pan. Pour 2 to 3 teaspoons vanilla over evenly. Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg over to taste. Set aside. Mix flour, brown sugar, butter and oatmeal in large bowl with mixer. Sprinkle over apples and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Nuts can also be sprinkled on top. Serves many.
