RED VELVET CAKE 
2 c. + 2 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sour milk (1 tsp. vinegar)
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat 3 minutes. Add 3 eggs and beat 2 minutes.

1 tsp. vinegar
1 (2 oz.) bottle red food color
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Add color to batter and mix well.

FROSTING:

2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk

1 c. superfine sugar
1 c. butter

Beat together for 5 minutes. Add cooled milk mixture to creamed sugar and beat 2 minutes and then add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
