GRANDMA'S CARAMEL BARS 
1 pkg. caramels (32 or more)
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. milk
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. pecans, chopped

Melt caramels, butter and milk together in double boiler. Stir flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, salt, butter and pecans together, mixture will be crumbly. Butter a 9 x 13 inch pan. Put 3/4 of mixture in pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Spread caramel mixture and pecans over bottom crust and crumble remaining mixture over caramel layer. Bake additional 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees or until bubbly. Don't over bake. It will get hard.
