JUDY'S CARAMEL BARS 
32 caramels
5 tbsp. cream
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. chocolate or butterscotch chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Melt caramels and cream. Cool. Combine all other ingredients, except chips and nuts. Stir until crumbly. Press 1/2 of crumbs in 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle chips and nuts on crust. Spread caramel mixture over chips and nuts. Top with the rest of the crumbly mixture. Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer.
