APPLE CRISP | |
5 Pippin apples (6 c. peeled & cored, cut into 1/2" thick slices) 1/3 c. apricot or orange juice 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 3/4 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. butter Preheated 375 degree oven. Distribute cut apples evenly in well buttered 7 x 11 inch baking dish. In a bowl, combine juice and granulated sugar and pour over apples. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and flour until well blended. Using a pastry blender, cut 4 tablespoons butter into flour mixture until particles are size of peas. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve cold. |
