TURKEY STEAKS SHANGHAI | |
4-8 turkey breast steaks, cut 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 3 tbsp. peanut oil 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 1/2 tsp. chicken seasoned stock base 1/2 tsp. powdered ginger 1 tsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. sherry 1 tbsp. wine vinegar 1/4 c. soy sauce 1 1/2 c. water Hot cooked rice 1/4 c. sliced green onions Season turkey with salt and pepper. Saute in heated oil unitl golden brown, turning once. Remove steaks from pan. Combine all remaining ingredients, except rice and green onions, in pan. Cook and stir until sauce clears and thickens. Return turkey steaks to sauce and reheat a few minutes. Serve with rice; sprinkle with green onion. Makes 4 servings. |
