MINCEMEAT - WALNUT COFFEE CAKE | |
1 lb. frozen white dough, thawed 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted 2 tbsp. granulated sugar 1 (9 oz.) pkg. condensed mincemeat, finely crumbled 3 tbsp. chopped walnuts 2 tbsp. light corn syrup On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to a 15 x 10 inch rec- tangle. Brush with 1 1/2 tablespoon butter; sprinkle evenly with sugar, then mincemeat and walnuts. Roll up from one wide side like a jelly roll; pinch seam to seal. Place seam side down on greased baking sheet; form into a ring, pinching ends together to seal. With a sharp knife, cut through ring at 1 inch intervals to about 1/2 inch from center. Turn each slice slightly on its side. Cover with towel; let rise top with remaining butter. Meanwhile heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to rack to cool. Brush with corn syrup while warm. Makes 12 slices. |
