TYRONE FARMS BLACK WALNUT COFFEE
CAKE
 
1/4 lb. butter
4 tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
3 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING AND LAYERS:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and shortening in large bowl. Add sugar and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla and blend. Pour no more than half of mixture into greased and floured tube (angel food cake) pan.

Sprinkle half of cinnamon and sugar mixture and half of chopped nuts over batter. Pour remaining batter into pan and top with remaining sugar and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees at least 1 hour until done. Makes a really nice cake to take to parties.
