2 lbs. ground round steak
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs
3/4 c. ketchup
1 tsp. MSG (Accent)
1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. onion soup mix
2 strips raw bacon (opt.)
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 - 1/2 c. brown sugar (opt.)

I use Lipton beefy mushroom because my husband can't eat any onions.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly except bacon, tomato sauce and optional brown sugar. Place meat loaf mixture in greased loaf pan. Top with tomato sauce (mixed with brown sugar, if desired) and bacon slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 6.
