STREUSEL COFFEE CAKE 
3/4 c. water
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
2 1/4 c. flour
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening

In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar and salt. Add about half the flour gradually, until smooth. Beat thoroughly, 2 minutes. Beat in rest of flour gradually, until smooth. Drop small spoonfuls over entire bottom of greased 9 inch pan.

Mix thoroughly 2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup granulated or brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 2 tablespoons cinnamon and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Sprinkle mixture over dough. Cover and let rise in warm place 50 to 60 minutes or until double in bulk.

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Turn out of pan immediately to avoid sticking.
