RANCH STYLE BISCUITS | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 4 1/2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/3 tsp. baking soda 1/4 c. melted shortening 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 2 c. buttermilk Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix together all the dry ingredients, then add buttermilk, yeast and shortening. Store in refrigerator. Pull out portions of dough as you need it. Roll out on floured surface; cut into biscuits. Dough does not have to rise, but biscuits are best if allowed to set 15 to 20 minutes in warm place before baking at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. |
