MOUND BARS | |
1 stick butter 1 lg. can sweetened condensed milk 2 lbs. confectioners' sugar 1 (14 oz.) pkg. flaked coconut 3/4 to 1 cake paraffin wax shaved 1 (14 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 qt. chopped nuts (optional) Melt butter on low heat. Remove from heat. Add milk, sugar. Gradually add coconut and nuts kneading in well with hands. Form in balls or small bars. Place on wax paper. Chill for 30-35 minutes. Melt paraffin over hot water in double boiler. Add chocolate chips; stir until chips are dissolved. Keep over hot water. Dip chilled bars in chocolate mixture using tongs. Place on wax paper. Chill for 30 minutes. Yields 3 dozen. |
