HONEY COOKIES 
1/2 lb. soft butter
1 1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Juice of 1/2 orange
Grated rind of 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp. cognac
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts

Beat butter, oil and sugar together until creamy. Add egg yolks, cognac and lemon rind. Combine baking soda and orange juice and add to mixture. Mix well and add flour and nuts and form a soft dough.

Taking approximately a rounded teaspoon of dough, form into small ovals. Make indentation with thumb. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Dip cooled cookies into warm syrup and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.

SYRUP:

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 stick cinnamon
1/2 c. honey
3 or 4 whole cloves

Boil all ingredients (EXCEPT HONEY) for 5 minutes. Add honey and cook an additional 5 minutes.
