Cook as many green beans as needed until bean will mash slightly. Cool. Boil corn on cob; cool. Cut off cob, as much as needed.
Mix the corn and beans; may add cut hot pepper, if desired. Fill jar or crock 1/2 full of corn and bean mixture; sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt to each quart of beans and corn. Finish filling the jar with corn and beans to approximately 1 1/2 to 2 inches from the top.
Again put in 1 teaspoon salt to each quart of beans and corn. Fill jar with cold water. Put a saucer over beans and use a pint of water in a jar to hold beans under water. Check after 3 to 4 days to see if more water is needed. Set in cool place until sour as you want - then can.
