SUMMER SLAW OR FREEZER SLAW | |
1 head cabbage (about 2 lb.) 1 green or red sweet pepper 1 large onion 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. mustard seed 3/4 c. salad oil 1 c. vinegar 1 carrot, grated Mix cabbage, pepper and onion in bowl. In small saucepan mix sugar, salt, celery seed, mustard seed, oil and vinegar. Place on low heat and simmer until sugar dissolves. Pour over vegetables and mix well. Sprinkle with grated carrots. Refrigerate covered. Stir before serving. |
