PEANUT BUTTER JELLY BARS | |
2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. sugar 1 (12 oz.) pkg. peanut butter morsels, divided 1 c. red currant jelly Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In small bowl, combine flour and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter and sugar; beat until creamy. Gradually add flour mixture; beat until mixture forms fine crumbs. Reserve 1 cup crumb mixture; set aside. Press remaining crumbs into greased 9x13x2 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes. In small bowl, combine 1 cup peanut butter morsels and red currant jelly. Spread over baked base. Melt over hot water remaining morsels. Remove from heat. Stir in reserved crumb mixture. Sprinkle over peanut butter-jelly layer. Bake 15 to 18 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into squares. Makes 4 1/2 dozen 2x1 inch squares. |
