PHALUCK GHOSHE (SPINACH WITH LAMB MEAT) | |
1 lb. lamb meat stew 1 med. onion, sliced in rings 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach 1/2 c. cooking oil 1/2 tsp. crushed ginger & garlic 1/2 tsp. red pepper 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. turmeric (optional) Heat the oil warm and add onions to it. Saute the onions until golden brown. Add the stew lamb meat, crushed garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 5 minutes. Add red pepper, salt and turmeric with the meat. Stir for few seconds, add 2 cups water and let the meat cook for 40 minutes until tender. Add the box of frozen thawed spinach to the cooked meat. Stir for few minutes. Add enough water and let it simmer for 10 to 12 minutes. Goes well with hot steamed rice. Note: Chicken or beef can be substituted for lamb. |
