MARTIN'S BEEF STEW 
3 lbs. beef, cut in pieces
1 1/2 c. carrots
1 1/2 c. sliced onions
1 1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
1 canned plum tomatoes
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Garlic salt
1/4 c. gin
1 c. white vermouth
1 can beef consomme, diluted

Rub meat on all sides with flour, salt and pepper mixture. Layer meat in casserole. Blend all vegetables and seasonings and layer on top of meat. Blend vermouth, gin and consomme and pour over all. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours or until beef is tender.
