ICE BOX BUTTER RING
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm milk
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
Cinnamon
Chopped nuts
Raisins
Brown sugar

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk. Add eggs and sour cream. Sift together dry ingredients and cut in butter as for pie dough. Add yeast mixture. Mix well and chill dough overnight. Divide dough into 4 parts. Roll each to a rectangle, brush with butter, sprinkle with a little cinnamon and spread liberally with nuts, raisins, and a handful of brown sugar. Roll up like jelly roll, sealing edge firmly. Form into ring, sealed side down on greased pan, sealing ends together. Let rise in warm place for 2 hours. If desired cut 6 gashes in ring to let steam escape during baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Frost with confectioner's sugar icing. Makes 4 rings.
