HUNGRY JACK | |
2 lb. hamburger 2 lg. cans pork and beans 1 sm. bottle BBQ sauce 1/3 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vinegar 1/2 c. chopped onion (optional) 1 lg. can biscuits (Hungry Jack) or 2 sm. cans 6 to 8 slices American cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown hamburger - season as desired. Drain. Add pork and beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, onion. Stir until all ingredients are mixed together. You may add a little water, if needed. Simmer on low to medium heat for 30 minutes. Transfer hamburger/bean mixture to baking dish (I use 9 x 13). Separate biscuits and cut into fourths. Place biscuit quarters on top of hamburger/bean mixture. Place baking dish into oven, bake until biscuits are baked. Remove from oven. Cut cheese slices into strips and place on top of biscuits and return to oven long enough to melt cheese. Remove from oven and serve. |
