COFFEE TOFFEE BARS 
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. almond extract
1 to 2 tbsp. instant coffee
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter and brown sugar. Blend in almond extract and instant coffee. Add dry ingredients gradually, blend thoroughly. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Press dough in greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

GLAZE:

Combine 1 tablespoon soft butter, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1/8 teaspoon almond extract. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons milk until spreading consistency. Put on bars while still warm.
