DONUTS 
1 egg, beaten
4 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. flour - may need to add more flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Nutmeg for flavoring

Beat egg until light. Add sugar, beat until spongy. Mix in rest of ingredients. Pat dough on a floured board to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with donut cutter or small glass. Fry in fat until brown. Roll in powdered sugar. Serve while warm. Makes 7 or 8 donuts.
